First, we want to welcome to Magnolia Methodist Church. We want you to comfortable to attend MMC on the day you chose to join us.
We know the first step in deciding to go to church for the first time or maybe even the first time in a while can be met with hesitation for some. That is a completely normal feeling and you are not alone.
Magnolia Methodist Church is handicapped accessible, has a convenient entrance and ample parking for you. MMC is located on one floor. As soon as you enter MMC, greeters will greet you and hand you your bulletin for the service then you can walk straight into the sanctuary while restrooms are located to your left. Magnolia Methodist Church holds their worship service at 9:00am on Sunday mornings. The worship service style is a blend of traditional and contemporary style of worship. Our music consist of the old favorite hymns, an occasional praise video and worship song, scripture read by the liturgist and Bible-based preaching by Pastor Matt. We have a Chancel Choir that leads in special music weekly until the summer months and they resume in the fall time. You will see that those who attend MMC come wearing what they are comfortable wearing. It’s pretty simple; come as you are.
During the worship time, Pastor Matt has a Children’s Moment. All children-if they are comfortable in doing so-are invited to join him up front for a “mini message.” (The adults enjoy the message just as much!) After that-the children are welcome to go back to Junior Church with a teacher. If your child(ren) feel more comfortable staying in the service-that is perfectly fine. There are Red Busy Bags at the back of the sanctuary that the little ones can use at any time during the worship service. These bags hold crayons and activities. Once the children go back to Junior Church, the service continues.
If you happen to visit on the first Sunday of the month, we hold Holy Communion. At MMC, we believe that ALL are welcome to come to the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion. Pastor Matt and the ushers will help guide everyone to the front for communion. If you prefer to take Holy Communion in your pew, please let an Usher know and they will make sure you have what you need. If you need Gluten-Free communion elements, also, please let an Usher know. We have both available to meet your needs.
After worship, we have a time of fellowship and greeting in the fellowship hall. Everyone enjoys this time of catching up and the sweet treats and coffee, juice, capri suns and water is a welcomed treat by everyone too.
If you are visiting during the summer months, you will see that we do not have Sunday School after the worship service. We continue that during the school months. You will soon see that at MMC, we have a lot of volunteers who take part in many ministries. While we have many volunteers, we have an adopted “Safe Sanctuary” policy on hand at MMC. All volunteers that work with children and youth have completed a Background Check and that is on file. We want MMC to be a safe place for everyone.
Chances are, you probably will recognize a familiar face or two…or three when you arrive. We are an active church in church…but most importantly, we are out in the community too. You will see teachers, volunteers, doctors, school friends, people from the bus stop and maybe even from the grocery store.
We welcome you to Magnolia Methodist Church. Join us.
