Sunday School Classes
There are 2 classes for Adults on Sunday mornings after the worship service.

Genesis Class: The Genesis Class meets in the small room next to the Fellowship Hall on the south side of the church. Our curriculum is eclectic and varies in content from week to week. I choose the lesson from a variety of sources on the internet. I have been a member of Magnolia Methodist Church since 1968. I have served as chairman of the Administrative Board, the Leadership Board and the Board of Trustees. I served as a delegate to the Annual Conference both as a delegate from Magnolia and as an at large delegate from the district. I served as a member of the Conference Agenda Committee for two years. Sue and I were leaders of the youth group in the 1980’s. We took several youths on a mission trip to McCurdy School in New Mexico in the summer of 1989. I have taught adult Sunday school classes for more than 40 years. I am originally from Moundsville, West Virginia. I graduated from West Liberty State College in 1965. I taught for a year in Marshall County West Virginia then taught for 30 years at Sandy Valley after Sue and I were married in 1966. I was first elected mayor of Magnolia in 1979 and served 10 terms until 2020 when I retired. After I retired from teaching, I worked at the Ford Dealership in Waynesburg until its closing last April.

This Sunday School class is held in the multi-purpose room located in the wing of the church closest to the restrooms and bulletin board. This class is led by Terry & Tammy Selby and the lessons are always adaptable to everyone-no matter where you are at in your own personal Bible knowledge. Terry and Tammy have years of serving in church and leading small group studies. This class is a welcoming group that would enjoy having you join them. Their class is about to begin this study: The Book of Job by Francis Chan. The world teaches us to revolve our actions, thoughts, and beliefs around ourselves. “It’s all about you!” we are encouraged to think. In the world’s philosophy, we become the author and hero of our story. But the Bible teaches a different view, one where another hero—the actual Author of life—takes center stage. In the book of Job, God asserts his preeminence and displays his power. Join Francis Chan in this eight-session series on Job as he explores the overriding truth that we exist not for ourselves but to glorify the God who deserves all worship and praise.
Small Group Bible Studies
The Tuesday morning Bible Study is open and welcome to anyone, men and women of all ages. They meet at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall. The group follows along with a study book and they also work on the Prayer Shawl Ministry blankets during the study.
Men’s Breakfast

Men’s Breakfast meets on the 2nd Saturday of every month. Open and free to all ages of men (even the little kiddos!) for a devotion and breakfast. The Men’s Breakfast is held at MMC unless otherwise noted.
